    That is absolutely horrendous and I will never EVER buy my son a Mcdonald's again, even though he only has one occasionally.

    Oh my word!!!! & My ex husband 'treats ' my kids two this twice a week. It's good I have a bit of sense not to be giving them the same treats. Thanks chocolatebutton. Def enough to put me off for life lol xx

    The chip/fry comparison isn't fair at all as the "fresh" one isn't fried, it's just cut up. I'm pretty sure that if it had been deep fried it wouldn't have gone black. And the whole "there's no break down and think about it once it goes on your thighs there's no breakdown", you know that's just poppycock.

    Yeah, McDonalds is plastic food and not the best thing to be eating and I'm all for discouraging people from eating that kind of thing, but this is sensationalist nonsense. I have a couple of lemons that've been around for about 11 years and they're isn't mouldy, just hard; are lemons bad for me?

    I'm not even going to comapare a lemon to a Mcdonalds! Why have you kept some lemons for 11 years?

    The lemons were -supposed- to have cloves and silver balls/sparkly things put on them and then they're used as decorations for a Christmas tree, like the Victorians did with Oranges - they made lovely scented decorations and the cloves prevented mould forming. I, er, just forgot to put the cloves in and forgot about the lemons and as they just dried out rather than going mouldy, didn't notice for ages.

    They rattle nicely now though as there were breaks in the fibrous covering on the segments that let the seeds move about. And still smell very faintly of lemon. I've added them to the giant pot pourri in the fireplace as they fit in very nicely with the pine cones and curly bits of bark etc.
